Lebanon Iran & U.S.A

U.S.: We suspect Iran doesn't have Lebanon's interest at heart
State Department spokesman says Iran and Hezbollah are trying to undermine the sovereignty of the Lebanese government.

As the representative of Islamic Revolution, president Ahmadinejad's trip to Lebanon and his receiving warm welcome from people can be a symbol showing that the United States' different strategies and sanctions to isolate Iran are failing. On the other hand it was an opportunity for Iran to display its power. This trip serves Iran's international strategies against Israel and the US. Ahmadinejad has called for Israel to be wiped off the map and said last month that any attack by Israel on Iran would lead to the destruction of the state of Israel as a political entity. Iran is also supporting Hezbollah, not in order to undermine the sovereignty of the Lebanese government, but to express that Iran stands ready to defend Hezbollah over any possible charges. Iran wants the Islamic countries to be integrated and united and unlike some countries does not interfere in the internal affairs of Lebanon...
